Since Alternate Roots Powerhouse Dallas Frasca hit the scene in Dec 2005 when she released her debut solo EP ‘Acoustic Slide Groove’, she has oblivorated 4 stomp boxes, cooked 2 P.A’s and melted one guitar amp, clocking up over 30,000kms of touring around Australia.
Classically trained in her early years, Callee packed her bags equipped with only her progressive piano skills, leaving behind her close friends Mozart and Bach, and the rigid forms of classical music. Distracted from studies as a year 11 student, Callee dismissed her former goals of studying medicine - fighting against her teachers until the very last day of her Higher School Certificate studies in 2004.
Ever since 2002, local Sydney artist Ash Grunwald has been bringing Roots and Blues to a whole new generation along with the likes of the John Butler Trio. In 2006, Grunwald is back with his fourth album, Give Signs. The album features twelve original tracks recorded live and solo, showcasing the performer's fine talent and his growth as a musician and songwriter.
Anchored in a variety of roots music – from drum & bass to soul funk, crisp hip-hop to spirited rock & improvised jazz – Afro Dizzi Act have built a reputation as one of the most flexible bands in Australia. Their ability to craft a live performance for a particular audience and space is second to none and it’s for this reason amongst others the group has been able to attract such a wide ranging audience and an equally diverse array of gigs.
This series of Synchronicity soundtracks is the slowest, most continually meditative music available. May be used with headphones for expansive Theta level meditation or as deeply relaxing, ambient background for massage, yoga, etc. Each soundtrack contains two 30-minute selections. Sounds of Source Volume Three features flute, voice, whale songs and soothing ocean waves.
Solo Alternate Roots powerhouse, Dallas Frasca, didnt start singing until she was 19 years old. Ten years on, Frascas mighty soul-voice resonates through venues, stereos, and radio stations across Australia. Frasca has sung in an array of bands from metal to funk. Her passion and the natural gutsy tone in her voice always lead her back to roots music. Frasca became an original member of Blues-rock band Trevors House.
The yidaki (didjeridu) is an instrument of the Indigenous people of Northern Australia. It is a gateway to the Dreamtime. When I play I connect with a vast and infinite pool of knowkedge and raw creative forces. I play my story, my dreaming, the dreaming of NOW, I humble myself to the traditional custodians of this instrument. This music is dedicated to the healing and harmonising of planet Earth.
