“mizair” is the name of Garry's current project. It began nearly ten years ago when Garry and co-producer/engineer David Hemming recorded some demos of a few of Garry's songs, including “Songlines” a feature track on the current CD. The project has gone through many changes, with different singers and musicians, but has always kept its original concept, which was to record the best of Garry's material to the best possible standard.
Born Jan 20 1979 in Michigan, USA and transported to Australia as a baby where I lived until 2004. I studied a Bachelor of Music in jazz trumpet with the great John Hoffman and a Master of Music Studies in Composition @ the QLD Conservatorium of Music.
Born in Uganda, Drew Branton is now residing in Byron Bay, Australia's most easterly point. Since moving to the coast, surfing and jamming have been a major part of his life. Drew's music has a deep funk influence which prevails with a sense of pushed boundary's to keep it fresh.
Afro Dizzi Act is pleased to announce the release of their new EP 'Welcome Speech'. It was written as a reflection of our times whilst the band was touring throughout North East India. 'Welcome Speech' features pure world funk flavours. On the EP it is accompanied by dance floor starter 'Let Yourself Go' as remixed by Dave Dog (Resin Dogs) and a 9 minute psychedelic jam titled 'Rainbows'. Both 'Welcome Speech' and 'Let Yourself Go' are also released on an American pressed, limited edition vinyl 7" single, available exclusively through Butter Beats.
