Classically trained in her early years, Callee packed her bags equipped with only her progressive piano skills, leaving behind her close friends Mozart and Bach, and the rigid forms of classical music. Distracted from studies as a year 11 student, Callee dismissed her former goals of studying medicine - fighting against her teachers until the very last day of her Higher School Certificate studies in 2004.
The British trio, fronted by New Zealander Mikey McCleary, have already seen UK indie chart success with their first two singles, and it is not hard to see why. The Naked Apes specialise in upbeat, bouncy pop-punk tunes laced with consistently catchy melodies.
